Sweeney's I Hate Moles Because Contest

Not long ago I did a review for Sweeney's Deer Repellent, which we have used in our garden (and seems to be working pretty good since our veggies look better than they have in years--no one/nothing eating them).  Well, right now they are holding a contest on Facebook called I Hate Moles Because.  Information below!

How to enter:

To enter the contest, visit Sweeney’s Facebook page or Sweeney’s website.   Entries can also be mailed to:

Sweeney’s “I hate moles because…” Contest
2244 Dunroyal Drive
St. Louis, MO 63131

Write a short story or a poem, make a video, etc. about why you hate moles.

Sweeney’s retains the rights to publish any mole woe submissions.  Odds of winning depend on how many people enter the contest and how your mole woes compare to other contestants’ mole woes. Contest entries must be received by 11:59 PM CST on August 31, 2012 to be eligible.  Winners will be posted on Sweeney’s Facebook page no later than Sept. 30, 2012.

Here is a little info about the company and the annual contest:

Sweeney’s, a leading producer of DIY pest control products, announces the 6th annual launch of their popular “I hate moles because…” contest. The nationwide search for tales of despair from mole-afflicted homeowners runs through Aug. 31, 2012.  $500 will be awarded for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place.  Seven runner-ups will each receive a Sweeney’s Gift Basket.

The “I hate moles because….” contest originated in 2007 when Sweeney’s decided to create a forum for people to vent about their mole woes.  Since then, thousands of battle-weary mole warriors have shared tales of strategic campaigns designed to get rid of moles and return lawns across America to their rightful suburban beauty.

“Over the years, our contest has ferreted out a huge number of mole woe stories…and some pretty creative solutions for getting rid of the pesky critters,” says Stew Clark, Sweeney’s Director of Research. “We like to think that the contest is a bit like mole control group therapy. Misery loves company, and it’s good to know you’re not alone when it comes to battling moles.”  Past winning entries can be viewed on Sweeney’s website.

While venting may make you feel better, Clark cautions that it’s not always easy to get rid of moles.  “There isn’t one surefire method to getting rid of the moles in your yard.  You have to be flexible and be willing to try different things.”
